In the year 1967 Delhi Development Authority has commenced its housing scheme and played a vital role in providing shelter to more than millions of families in Delhi. They construct houses after understanding the needs, requirements and purchasing capacity of the different society group in the national capital. With the help of newspapers and other advertisement tools DDA time to time announces various categories of flats aimed to provide shelter to mostly the weaker section and the low income group society people.

From 1967 till 2007 DDA has provided accommodation around 3, 67,724 to the people in which half the accommodations allotted to the weaker and low income level section people. These flats are well equipped with essential services like water, sewage disposal, electricity, etc which are essential to live in a house. Various categories of flats are launched under DDA housing scheme like HIG flats, LIG flats, MIG flats, LIG/one room flat, Janta, and EHS (expandable) and it is locate anywhere in the part of Delhi region like Sarita Vihar, Jasola, Dwarka, Pitampura, Sukhdev Vihar, Mukherjee Nagar, etc. The price of the flats starts ranging from Rs11 lakhs up to Rs120 lakhs depending upon the location and size of the flats.

Eligibility Criteria

The person who wants to own a DDA flat must be a citizen of India.

The applicant age should be 18 years or more than 18 years for applying a flat under DDA housing scheme.

One does not own any residential house or plot in full or in part in Delhi, either by his/her own name or by the name of his wife/husband, children/minor. In case, the share of the applicant is less than 66.9 sq. mtrs in the residential house land or in the jointly owned plot, he is entitled to apply for flat under the scheme.

Person who has already got a plot under DDAs scheme or any other housing scheme are not entitled to apply for further schemes of DDA.

How They Allot Flats— Through computerized lucky draw DDA would allot flats to his applicants. Before this they finalized the genuine candidates selecting from the entire request applications received by the DDA. In case one got selected for a flat by the authority than he/she has to pay a registration fees ranging from Rs 1 lakhs to Rs 2.5 lakhs depending on the size of the Flats.
